Yay.....we survived!!
Stamp Escape 2024 is history and Melissa and I actually survived. It was so much fun to see all of our regular attendees (you will notice I did not say "old") and quite a few newbies as well. We loved having Angelica, Irina, Carissa and Channin teach this year. It is always great to see different styles and techniques from the teachers. From your input, I think we had a nice variety of styles and projects. If you attended, you know that we announced dates for next year will be April 4-6. I should have my contract signed by the middle of next week. That will make the chalets and the hotel rooms in my block available. If you haven't attended in the past, you may want to consider 2025. We went through the time when nothing was done in person, but crafting with friends, new and old, is really fun!
After we got back to the store and got things put away, we realized that the store looked like a swarm of locust had come through. There were empty hooks everywhere. You know what that means....we get to SHOP!!!!! Yay....we love to shop! FYI, for those of you who ordered the Spellbinders Glasses die, it is out of stock at Spellbinders and our distributor as well. We have it on back order and will fill your request as soon as we get the dies. If anyone missed getting Angelica's paper pack on the weekend, we can also get that. We have her newest paper pack (which is beautiful) on the way!
If there is something you missed getting that related to Irina's class, just go to her website and order directly from her. She brought her product as a trunk show so I do not have remaining stock in the store. We had a discussion about her coming to the store occasionally to teach. She would also bring product to sell. We would probably set up like we do for Julie Kelly, seating 16 to 20 people......and can do a morning and an afternoon class. When Julie comes she teaches two different classes...we switch them around so you can take both the same day, or come morning both days or afternoon both days. That way if two classes with a lunch break in one day is too hard for you, you can still take both classes...one each day. Let me know if you might be interested in attending more classes from Irina.
Melissa is moving some things around in the store. We do that just to confuse you!! We are starting by revamping the inks. Be sure to take a look at them...not only do they look nice, and are colorful, we have added inks we have not had in the past.
Lots going on.....and lots of new things on the way!
Stop in to say Hi, and check things out!
What's New?
We have two new collections coming from Graphic 45....Flights of Fancy (my favorite) with beautigul florals and hummingbirds, and the Sunshine on My Mind Collection (Melissa's favorite!). with bicycles and and watermelon! Watch for them to arrive by mid-week.
Some big news from Spellbinders.....they are coming out with a mini die cutting machine. It cuts 3.5" wide and the universal plate system is 9" long. If you are familiar with the Platinum Six, their full size manual die cutting machine, you probably know about the universal plate system. It allows you to use just about every companies dies and embossing folders. The thing I really like about this machine is that the two sides fold down just like the Platinum Six. This gives you a lot of stability when you are working. The machine comes in white, but they also have it available only to store retailers in blue. It is very cute!!!!! We have an order in for both white and blue. They plan to ship in June. If you want to pre-order either one, be sure to let me know asap...I want to have enough for everyone. As you can see, they have put together a bundle that includes a set of dies. The retail price is $79.99 for blue and $74.99 for white. The blue will be limited edition. I think the response is going to be great for this machine. From what I understand they are getting tons of pre-orders! (BTW, I think the blue is a little "bluer" that it shows in the photos....I have seen it on a release video and it is a really pretty light blue!)
The new OLO colors we pre-ordered are in and we should be receiving ours soon. If you are converting to OLO from Copic, or are just getting in to alcohol ink pens, the new colors will help you round out your selection.
At Stamp Escape, we brought in the Spellbiinders Sealing Wax kit and accessories. Carissa did a make-and-take Saturday evening, which was really cute. We have the kits in the store and will be expanding our selection of wax colors and stamps. We also have some samples made. The process is simple and adding dimension to projects is always fun.
We also have many of the products that were used at Stamp Escape in the store. Be sure to take a look when you are in!
