Hello friends;

September is here and finally....cooler weather. After the hotttest August on record, I am ready. I pretty much hibernated with an air conditioner day and night. Summer is just not my time of year. It was fun seeing all of my 'summer customers' though. I think the streets in Oakhurst were the busiest I have ever seen this year. Certainly the grocery store parking lots were full of tourists.

Robin, Melissa and I have been working on putting together some fun classes for you, and also talking to teachers from out of the area about teaching at the store as opposed to waiting until Stamp Escape. As you know, Michael Strong will be here this month and everyone is very excited to have him back. He is teaching three different classes and all are full. I will still take people on the waiting list just in case.
We are thinking of asking Lynelle Harlow to come in November, and I have another idea for January. We will keep you posted on who is coming and when so you can mark your calendar.

We are also starting another new workshop day this month. On the last Tuesday of each month (this month, September 25th) we are inviting you to come to the store to work on cards for our troops. I hope you will check out the website, www.operationwritehome.org, to see what this is all about. We will make cards to send to Operation Write Home which will then go to the deployed troops which they will use to write home. The website gives you the rules, guidelines, ideas in the card gallery, etc. Of course we also have that information in the store. You can come for the day or part of the day, or even just make cards at home and bring them for us to mail. Bring your ideas, your scraps, your stamps, and we will have stuff, too. We will be offering inexpensive envelopes for sale so you can send your cards complete with envelopes. They have a great website, and we think this will be a lot of fun as well as a good thing to do. Share your talent with our troops!

We will be concentrating on the fall/winter holidays for classes now. You need to start planning your Christmas card designs so we can make sure we can get everything you need in time.

Enjoy the cooler weather...see you soon,

WHAT'S NEW?

We have received merchandise from some of the new companies we added after Summer CHA. We have in stock, absolutely the cutest bear stamp sets we have seen in years. He is called Popcorn the Bear and comes in cling sets. Each set has smaller accessory stamps that compliment the main image. You have to see these!

 The same company, Crafter's Companion (formerly Sunday International) shipped the fairy collections we ordered. They are called Fairyopolis and we have the four seasons fairies. They are really pretty and also come with little additional flower sprigs, butterflies and other stamps that compliment the lovely fairy.

I just got a call from Graphic 45 that they are shipping Birdsong, their beautiful Asian paper collection. We bought the stamps that accompany the paper, too. It is gorgeous.

For those of you who wouldn't own a heat gun other than the tried and true Milwaukee, we have them back! I have always owned a Milwaukee even though I sometimes use others.....I LOVE my Milwaukee!

As I was writing this, the new Penny Black Christmas collection came in. Check out the class schedule for a photo of the board.

The Darcies collection for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas featuring Tin Pins is here, but is not complete. Therefore, I had to cancel or postpone the Stamp of the Month class until we can get everything we need. We do have everything necessary for Melissa's class on the 15th, though. These projects will be worth waiting for.

Check out the Memory Box Color of the Month.....Taupe. These neutral cards that are specially died and featured each month are great to work with.

The latest Heartfelt Creations fall stamps and die sets are in. They include a birdhouse set, one with an old truck and wagon, another with berries and pomegranates and more. Beautiful!

Flourishes clear sets also arrived. I love this latest release that includes a beautiful hydrangea, a mason jar with flowers, and several other pretty sets.

We are now offering to special order Magnolia stamps. If there is something you want, let me know and we will most likely be able to get it for you. We just received their latest magazine which has lots of cute ideas using their stamps.

The My Favorite Things order includes their hexagon die set and hexagons are the latest thing, you know. We also got several other new dies and quite a few of their newest stamps.

Check in with us soon to keep up on the latest in stamps, paper, embellishments and trends.
