July really is here with a BANG!
Hi...
I don't know about you, but after record snow and rain, then a short but nice spring, I am not thrilled with this sudden HOT weather just in time for the 4th! I don't want to think about the congestion on Bass Lake. People are probably already lining the shore to see the fireworks Tuesday night! It will be crazy for sure. I will be hibernating until Wednesday. Actually, we will be open Monday, but closed Tuesday for the holiday. Stop by to say Hi to Melissa and the kitties. They will be holding down the fort!
Speaking of kitties, thanks to everyone who emailed about my two new additions! There is really never a dull moment at my house. My senior girls are really taking the wild youngsters in stride. There is daily evidence of exploration every evening when I return home. Yesterday it was pantry exploration. I don't know when they discovered I have a second floor as I guess I was at work...but they FLY up and down the stairs. They still don't have permanent names....I am working on that. Melissa just suggested Lucy and Desi! Do you have any thoughts?
As you know we have started carrying OLO markers and have discontinued Copics which are now 25% off. We are getting rave reviews on the OLO's! We just placed a large refill order which should be here soon. If you haven't tried OLO's, we are hearing that the ink blends beautifully (better than Ciao), the brush tip is great, and the price is right!
We have some great classes planned for the summer months! Robin is now designing for Impression Obsession which will be a lot of fun. Check out her first class featuring their stamps and dies.
We are also doing something we have not done in many years.....a Kids Class! Kathy will be teaching....here is her description of the class....
"Join us for a special card-making class created for kids! (or for those young at heart). We’ve found some cute jokester bovine panels which require minimal coloring. These make the perfect greeting card for any occasion . Class will be Saturday, July 22 starting at 9:30 a.m. (duration approximately two and one-half hours).
- We will make three cards
- Cost per kit is $20.00 (each kit contains cardstock for three cards).
- Recommended for kids age 10 and over.
- We ask that an adult accompany and be present to assist their kids for the duration of the class (no more than two kids per adult).
- Adults also may request and purchase a kit to make cards with the kids – just let us know.
- Please bring your favorite color pencils or markers to color the cute cow panels (we will have some watercolor markers for use/sharing); we will supply the glue and other supplies to share.
- Please reserve your space early because class size is limited! Call The Cat’s Meow (559) 642-6611 no later than Monday 7/17.
Melissa's class is a fun frenzy of flowers! We LOVE black and white and the pop of yellow says summer!
My class features my favorites from the latest Memeory Box release. I love the white woodgrain paper that takes ink beautifully and is perfect for any background.
Be sure to call or shoot us an email to sign up for this month's classes. There is more info at www.catsmeowstamps.com/classes
We look forward to seeing you soon....have a great (safe) Independence Day!
WHAT"S NEW?
We have some beautiful new patriotic paper. It is not strictly for any particular holiday, although it was great for the 4th! We also have a new collection of "camping/mountain/outdoorsy" paper on the way.
Of course, we have some fun stamps and dies from Impression Obsession coming. Robin will also be featuring the new Christmas Collection in her September class. We already know her August class with be a calendar using the beautiful floral papers from Graphic 45.
We have some great new dies from memory Box, you can see some of them in my class photos. There are other new dies as well. You will want to check them out in future classes.
We have some new sparkly embellishments as you can never sparkle too much! It seems like we order from one company or another at least twice a week....you should drop by when you are in Oakhurst and see what has just arrived!
See you soon!
