Will there be Christmas this year?
I can't believe it is July. It seems like there were no holidays last year. Actually, I guess there were holidays but we just didn't celebrate. Well watch out....this year the vendors seem to be on top of things and we are seeing Halloween, Fall, and Christmas already. In fact, our Stamp of the Month board this month has a Halloween theme and we have already placed orders with a couple of companies for Christmas stamps and dies. I don't know about you, but I will happy to have a bit of normalcy in my life.
One thing that we can look forward to even before the holidays is Julie Kelly coming in August to teach a couple of classes. Julie will join us Saturday, August 14th and Sunday, August 15th. On Saturday moring she will teach a 5 card class ( 4 from Lawn Fawn and one from Avery Elle) and in the afternoon she will teach a 5 card Picket Fence class. On Sunday the classes will be the same cards so you can either take both classes the same day or one Saturday and the other Sunday....of course if you choose to just take one, that's fine, too. The class fee is $35 for one class or $60 if you take both.
LAWN FAWN PICKET FENCE
Here is Julie's description of the classes:
" I am so excited to be back. We will be making 4 Lawn Fawn cards which will include a magic iris and a shaker card, plus 1 bonus Avery Elle birthday card for a total of 5 cards. We will work on some stencil techniques using Lawn Fawn's Cloud Stencil and some distress ink techniques for a sky background.
Pinkfresh is all the rage right now. Come see what makes them unique with their amazing products. We will be playing with their new washi tape and dies that make amazing, fast cards. We will also be playing with their new stencils. I will show you how to use the new stencils alone and with stamped images to make beautiful cards. We will also use their new slimline envelope die to make a few of those. We will make 2 cards using stencils, (one being slimline) 2 cards using die-cut washi (1 shaker and 1 mini slimline), and one other slimline and 2 slimline envelopes for a total of 5 cards and 2 envelopes. If we have time we will make a few other projects with the stencils. "
If you would like to sign up for the classes, please call 559-642-6611. You can either put a check in the mail or we can send you an invoice to pay by Paypal. Of course, if you stop by you can also pay by cash. Just an FYI, since Julie is coming from out of town, we will be taking more students than we have during Covid. Those attending will not have individual tables. Two people will share a table. We do not require masks in the store. You are certainly welcome to wear a mask if you are more comfortable. Since Julie drives a distance and stays in a hotel, we want to make her visit is worth the trip. We know you will have fun and will enjoy being in class again.
Our classes for July are up on the website, be sure to check them out. We hope to see you soon!
WHAT'S NEW?
In case you missed it, Hero Arts will be hosting a virtual class, their Hero Arts Summer Stamp-Along! Here is the link! Be sure to check it out. It really sounds like fun. If you decide to join, we have everything you need to complete the projects in the store. Just stop by or we can ship to you, as always.
A while back, we mentioned that we would be selling private label adhesives that we purchase directly from the manufacturer. We have almost everything in stock. We are just waiting on the white foam dots. We have tearable double-sided tape in 1/8", 1/4", and 1/2"...all in 60-yard rolls. We have 1/4" wide foam tape in black and white, and the black foam dots with their unique pull tabs are in as well. You will love the great price on these larger quantity rolls. We LOVE our Sticky Paws!!!!!
I know the 4th is just days away, but I thought I would mention that we got in a few "patriotic" stamps. They can be hard to come by so we saw some we like and brought them in.
We also received the two new Graphic 45 collections......My favorite Halloween paper with all the trimmings and the fun dog and cat collection, too.
Our favorite little die-cutting machine, the Sizzix Sidekick is back in stock. Now you may wonder why you would need such a thing....well, just imagine how handy it would be to quickly run your smaller dies through a machine that takes almost no room on your BIG craft table that is covered in your favorite stuff...allowing just one square foot of work space? You are now thinking I am talking about my messy table, but I bet there are a few of you out there who have the same work space....be honest!
Lots of new glitzy embellishments arrived today from Spellbinders, along with the July release of stamps and dies. Robin will be using dies in her class this month. As soon as she gets the samples done I will update the class page with a photo. Right now there is a stock photo from the Spellbinders catalog.
I am sure there are other things I am forgetting, but this hot weather fries my brain (lame excuse, I know). I hope you can stay cool where you are. We hope to see you soon!
