Heading to CHA....stay tuned!

February 2010

News Highlights

Thanks to everyone who called and emailed with comments on the new website. I am happy you like it and find it easy to browse. I am emailing the February news a little early as we will be leaving Saturday, January 28th for Anaheim to attend the Craft and Hobby Association Winter Trade Show shortly after Melissa's class. We plan to send updates while we are there. Be sure to "like us" on facebook. You will find the blue "f" icons on the website. By joining us on facebook, you will get to see what is going on even before we return. You will get the first glimpse of the newest and best products.

The other important reminder is about The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape 2012! Sign-ups are coming in every day.....three today, in fact. You won't want to miss our annual get-together. Where else can you spend the whole weekend making cool projects, meeting fun people, learning new techniques and going home exhausted with a bag full of goodies? Remember, this year you can even pay with Paypal! There is a slight charge to cover the Paypal fees, but we think some of you might find it a more convenient way to pay. We are seeing lots of new names this year. We hope to see all of our old friends as well as our newbies!

Even though this is usually a slow time for receiving new merchandise, just before the show, a few companies have released product a little early. Of course, we had the Hero Arts release in December, and I hear they will have two or three new supplements at the show. SEI released a beautiful paper collection early, too. It is gorgeous....pearly, pinks and palest greens. If you have been following us on Facebook, you have heard about the Dazzle Caddy. This cool little invention stores 10 bottles of glitter glue, ink refills, or alcohol inks. They are stored tip down eliminating air pockets and making shaking bottles unnecessary. There is a tight fitting cover so you can stash it in your bag when you come to class. They retail for $7.99....you may need several! Better hurry before Robin buys them all....she is reorganizing her studio and loves them!

Check out the nesting heart dies from Lifestyle Crafts. They come with plain edge, scalloped, or doily design. We also got in a big selection of dies and stamps from My Favorite Things. There are some really cute images with dies to coordinate. I love the paper doll border.

The new release from Memory Box has been so popular we have had to reorder. We have also signed up for What's In The Box? that should be in before the first of February. It will be nice to transition into Spring. From what they have sent me, I think this will be a really nice collection of stamps and dies. You might want to check out Dave's Blog. If you go to www.memoryboxco.com, and click on Dave's Blog, you will find a video that explains how to 'spot shim' some of the more detailed dies. He also shows the new Cuttlehug...a metal shim that helps cut the detailed dies much easier. I will have the shims in soon along with new gorgeous dies from Cherry Lynn Designs. Their website is also loaded with videos with helpful tips of using the thin dies.

I'll try to get a pic of Melissa while she is in the Tombow booth being famous! We have a list of people we want to visit and lots of products on our list of things to find. We will be excited to come back with our usual stash of catalogs and ideas. The store will be closed Saturday afternoon, Jan 28th, following Melissa's class and we will be at the show Sunday and Monday, driving home Tuesday. We will be open for business Wednesday. See you then!
