Exciting News from The Cat's Meow

January 2012 Cat's Meow News

News Highlights

Happy New Year,

Welcome to our new website! This has been quite an interesting journey. I had been using my old website program for about seven years and felt I was in quite a rut. One day I decided it was time for a new look. I contacted a company specializing in websites for craft stores. I guess I thought they would put it all together and say "Here it is.....it's all done and looks great and now you magically know how to do everything!" What was I thinking? Actually after a few scary days of thinking I might have made a mistake, everything started coming together. I had to do a lot of work, but was surprised that I could figure out how to make things work without asking too many questions. All in all, I like the look of the site, and I hope you do too. Included in the site is this new way to get the newsletter out to you, a way for people to sign up for our mailing list, fun slide shows which we can update as we take new photos, and most exciting, a way to pay online for classes and Stamp Escape. Since we will be using Paypal for payment, there is a slight increase in the fees if you pay online. If you choose to pay in the store by cash or check, fees will remain the same as before.

More exciting news, if you haven't already heard, we are all set for The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape 2012! Happily, without much publicity, lots sign-ups have come in already, even though it took quite a while to round up teachers who would provide the variety of styles and techniques we like to offer. As before, we have a lot planned, and hope you will be able to join us. For those who have asked for years if you could use a credit card, you will be able to use Paypal to pay online. There is a slight fee for this service. Click on the link to read all about it and download the registration form.

It's the time of year for our winter trade show, the Craft and Hobby Association Convention 2012. This year it will be back in Anaheim and we will close early on Saturday, January 28th so we can drive to southern California without fog. We will be at the show through Tuesday and will be open Wednesday morning as usual. We return with about 100 pounds of catalogs, lots of exciting ideas, and hopefully, samples! Be sure to stop by to look through everything and help us make purchasing decisions.

I hope you have a wonderful year ahead.....good health, and good times!
