I'm back!!!!!

Hello;
I made it to Phoenix, spent a day and a half at Creativation, and am back home writing orders. The trip went well.....with only a couple of glitches. On the way to Phoenix the flight attendant was drenched in perfume which what not too pleasant, and on the way back I lit up like the Times Square Christmas Tree when I went through security. The only thing I can think of is that I must have had glitter all over me to set off the machine. It was kind of funny to look at my image which was 75% yellow.....FYI.....your image is NOT supposed to be  yellow. Nope...no metal boddy parts, just a few pieces of jewelery. "Step aside, please for a full pat down!". Well, wasn't that fun. Maybe this was a result of the TSA people not being paid....Hey, don't take it out on me!

The show was better than I expected. There were some nice changes to the layout. There was a special place called Stamping Village where there were seating areas and all of the booths around the area were stamp companies. They had make-and-takes scheduled so you could probably spend a whole day going from booth to booth creating projects. I also liked having the international vendors mixed in with the rest of the vendors. I think in the past people just walked by them. I spent some time with a couple of vendors from Australia and the UK and plan to do business with both. I brought home as many catalogs as I could comfortably carry. I passed on those that will be mailed to me. I should have those within a few days.

I wrote a few orders at the show and have written quite a few since I returned. I should have product coming soon from Crafter's Companion (Gemini), Ranger, Buttons Galore, Spelbinders, Lawn Fawn, Impression Obsession, Penny Black, My Sweet Petunia (new tool from Misti) and  Tonic. As I get catalogs that I did not pick up, I will be placing more orders, I am sure. All of the catalogs that I have and will be receiving soon will be here for your shopping enjoyment!

Stamp Escape is just around the corner. If you have signed up and still need to make a final payment, the date for that is March 1st. At the end of this month I will send out a reminder with your amount owed. The teachers are excited and we have been chatting back and forth about their projects. I was able to meet with Libby Hickson and Julie Kelly at Creativation. I some how had in my mind that I had updated the website with teacher info, which I have now done. Just to make sure everyone knows who the teachers are....Nola Chandler (stamp designer for Impression Obsession), Libby Hickson (Marketing and Education Director for Hero Arts), Theresa Momber (stamp designer for Gina K Designs), and Julie Kelly (rep and teacher for several companies, who will feature Photoplay among other companies this year). There should be a good variety of styles and projects.

                                                      What's New? (and coming soon)

We finally received our order from Memory Box. Evidently it was lost in the world of Fax and Email.......The much-awaited art deco dies arrived and are selling fast. Unfortunately the word stamp set that coordinates with the dies is on back order, but should be here soon. We also got the Whittles collection. If you are curious about these, check our facebook page "The Cat's Meow-Paper Crafts" where we posted pics of the order.

Among our miscellaneous items we order are black adhesive foam squares from Gina K. They are nice to have when working with dark papers like I often do. We have also ordered and received several different frequently used word dies that come in smaller sizes. We had found that word dies were getting larger and larger, becoming the focal point of a card. We like these smaller dies that can be used with other stamped words.

We expect several fairy themed dies and embossing folders from a coupld of different companies soon. We have had great stamps from Lavinia on the way, we think....(for those of you who follow us on facebook, you know that our shipment went to Osaka Japan and we have Mabel Eghaghe's suitcase full of clothes...sorry Mabel). I digress...... I have informed Lavinia that we think our stamps are in Osaka and I assume they will re-ship. It will be fun to have fairy images that we can cut with dies to compliment our stamped images.

I ordered some fun collections of "Sparklets". These are really cute assortments that you would use in a shaker or individually on cards. I also ordered LOTS of different colors of sequins. We will really sparkle!

Of course I couldn't resist ordering from Penny Black. I ordered a beautiful 4 card board with all of the stamps and dies that are used on the board. I also ordered numerous individual stamps and some clear sets. I really liked some of their new more whimsical stamps this year.

Lawn Fawn probably had the best booth at the show. I ordered collections of paper as well as 6x6 pads and lots of stamps from them. I ordered from Spellbinders, but only dies that will be released within the next couple of months. I had a lot of shipping issues with them last year and am trying to keep things simple this year. I also ordered several beautiful new specialty papers from Tonic as well as new scissors and dies. Again, I chose some of the smaller word dies.

There is a lot more to come...and we will also place more orders once we get the rest of the catalogs. Stop by to check out the catalogs, we always accept special orders.
