We are thankful for you!!!
Thanksgiving is this month and we are thankful to have you as a friend and customer! Twenty three years ago this week The Cat's Meow opened for business in 1000 sq ft by McDonalds. We have been at our current location for thirteen years! Because of you we have been in business for 23 years....which is pretty much a record in the craft industry these days! Thank you, thank you!
We are really in the Christmas mode...just check out the class projects! I even planned something a bit different for Stamp of the Month! Penny Black came out with some fabulous dies and new word sets that I just couldn't resist. I decided to use the collection for the Stamp of the Month class where you choose the card you want to make and when you arrive, your kit is waiting for you. There is no teacher fee, but at this class, you purchase the stamps and dies needed to make your card. Penny Black never disappoints when it comes to great word sets and beautiful, high quality dies!
With Thanksgiving weekend being the traditional Black Friday for retailers, too, we are having a special event Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving. We will have a Christmas Card make and take, Hot Apple Cider, and 20% off of all stamps and dies in the store (unless already reduced). This discount does not apply to holds or special orders. Stop by to say hi, make a card and get a bargain!
So I have a funny story..... When a gentleman comes in either with his lady or on an errand and asks to use the restroom, Melissa always says "Just leave a quarter". The other day we purchased TP and as she was putting it away, she ran out of room so she decided to put it on top of the cupboard. Lo and behold, she found a stash of coins! Mostly quarters but some nickels, dimes and pennies too. We added it up and either a penny fell down behind the cupboard or one of the guys was a penny short :) We laughed and laughed......now we are trying to figure out who the guy is who follows directions so well that he left quarters per the instructions. He has probably been wondering how long it would take us to climb up on a stool and find the money. By the way it went in the SPCA bank! Can you solve our mystery?
If you are a fan of fairies, we are getting ready to place an order with Lavinia (our favorite resource for all mystical stamps). We order about four times a year since they are in Wales and that works best for freight for us. They have new images, so if you are interested you might check their website and let us know what you would like to have. We will add your "needs" to our order! Check out www.laviniastamps.com By the way, there are some serious knock-offs of Lavinia Stamps on Amazon. Don't be fooled by these blatant copies..they are stolen images. The quality is generally inferior and the images stamp poorly. I even see them called "clear rubber stamps" Our clear stamps are not rubber! These stamps are not the bargain they appear to be. They are quite easy to spot as most all have Chinese company names. Very sad to see this happen so much in our industry :(
I hope to see you soon. Take some time for yourself as we approach this busy holiday season!
What's New?
The final release of Distress Oxides (12 colors) is in stock. If you have reserved a bundle of all 12 pads and reinkers at a 10% discount, we have yours ready for you. If you want them shipped, please call. If you have not ordered yet, call or email and we will take care of you. This fills out the entire collection of 60 colors...will you have them all?????
We have restocked Gina K with papers, new images, Connect glue, and we now carry the Amalgam ink pad in the full size pad. We are excited that Theresa Momber who designs for Gina K will be teaching at The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape 2019.
As I mentioned above we have the latest collection of dies and word stamps from Penny Black. Check out the Stamp of the Month class.
Last month I mentioned some new cardstock, Pulsar, that we are in love with.....we just added a very vivid acid green along with a shade of gold that is very unique. I am using the blue on my Christmas cards this year. I couldn't resist ! Right now I only have a pieced together sample of the card, but next month I will try to remember to add a photo of the completed version in the newsletter. I doubt, however, that the computer will do the color justice.
In the paper department, we have new 12x12 prints in Christmas themes from Pebbles, and Fall themed papers from Echo Park. We expect the Butterfly collection from Graphic 45 any day.
By popular demand we have added some colors of micro-beads to stock. If you haven't used them before, they are teensy little glass beads that work with any glue that dries clear.
Our order from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Christmas dies collection came in. I really like the set that looks like Christmas cookies...must be something from my childhood!
Remember to sign up for our November classes and stop by Thanksgiving weekend! Thanks again for your support!
