Hi there;
Yes, it is hot! Some days hotter than we are used to here. The Ferguson fire is still burning and worse than the heat is the smoke. The smoke is awful! I hold my breath between my car and the store. Once inside, all is good (as long as we have power). With all of the fires in California, we are actually lucky as we have had no homes lost and the firefighters are making headway directing the fire to areas that they are able to control and are burning off fuels that could could burn at a later time. We mourn the loss of the two firefighters that were killed in the Ferguson fire, one of whom was a local man. We hope the fire is under control by this weekend and all affected will be able to return home. Luckily, our Mariposa friends evacuations have been lifted so their lives can get back to normal.
On a happier note, we want to thank all of you who so eagerly signed up for The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape 2019. The flood of registration forms and payments is heartwarming (and a bit overwhelming). We reached our maximum number of students of 100 just a few days after updating the website and are now taking a waiting list. Please don't be afraid to join the waitlist as we all know, planning this far in advance is hard and things do happen. Every year we are able to take people from the list which allows us to have a 'full house' at the event.
Our teachers this year are Theresa Momber from Gina K Designs. Theresa designs the Scene Scapes for Gina K and does beautiful work that I know you will love. Nola Chandler designs for Impression Obsession. Her images are fun and whimsical. Julie Kelly is returning this year to bring a dimensional project of a box with cards inside. She will feature one of our favorite newer companies, Photoplay along with Avery Elle. Last but not least is the very popular Libby Hickson from Hero Arts.We love all of the new products that Hero Arts is coming out with! All teachers will use the newest images and products in their classes. We thing the variety will provide something for everyone.
Mid month, I emailed links to a couple of online catalogs and a video. Here is something more for your shopping enjoyment! Let us know if there are 'must-haves'.

Impression Obsession Fall/Winter Catalog
Besides being on firewatch and keeping up with Stamp Escape and business....we have been receiving lots of new product. You will find the information in the section below. We have also started planning classes farther in advance. We plan to send out photos and information of future class projects mid-month prior to the month of the class. We hope this will help you plan ahead.
Speaking of planning ahead, Julie Kelly will be coming in September to teach classes with the Halloween and Christmas releases from Lawn Fawn. She will teach a 2 1/2 Halloween class in the morning and a 2 1/2 hour Christmas class in the afternoon on Saturday, September 22nd. If there are more people interested in the classes than we have space for, she will also teach the same two classes Friday, September 21st. The classes are $30 each and there will be 4 cards per class with at least one being interactive. Classes must be paid in advance. Call us at 559-642-6611 to sign up.
Let's hope next month we have clear air, no fires, and everyone is safe!

What's New?
Of course first on the list are the new colors of Distress Oxides from Tim Holtz/Ranger. We now have 48 beautiful colors and should have the final 12 in October, I believe. If you must have them all, keep an eye on your email as I will be sure to let you know when we expect them.
We ordered from Pinkfresh Studios, our favorite new company at the January show. They have such a clean style and have some very innovative stamp/die combos. Check out Robin's class where she uses what we are calling the In and Out sets......not sure what they are really called :) The die cuts an opening in the front of the card. The hole is surrounded by adorable images (also die cut) and you can stamp your greeting in the 'hole'.
We have all of our Birch Press Layering Dies and have made samples so you can see how the layers work. They are really spectacular.
We have our order in for the Gina K Fall Wreath Builder. If you are interested you should get on our list. We have also ordered additional colors of her beautiful cardstock and plan to sell it open stock as well as in packs of 25. We know when you buy one sheet you will want a whole pack!
We are gearing up for the holidays, ordering for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and winter. We want to make some room so during the month of August, EVERYTHING Christmas is 30% off! You will also start to see Christmas themed cards in our classes. Every Thursday we will have an open workshop so gather your supplies and ideas and come work on your Christmas cards....no excuse for not getting them done this year. Come any time, 9-5.....
Check out the classes Here. Call or stop by to sign up!
