Looking forward to Fall!

Newsletter

Hi there;

With the hot weather and the recent fire in the Mariposa area, I am really ready for FALL!! I can hardly wait for the cool nights and fall colors. We are even starting to focus of fall and winter in our classes. This month I am doing something I haven't done in years. Saturday, August 5th, I am teaching a Basics and Beyond class. I noticed that even my 'seasoned' stampers (you notice I didn't say 'old' stampers) don't always know why they use certain inks for certain processes and certain papers. In this class we will cover inks, tools, paper, processes such as heat embossing, adhesives, die cutting, and more. This will be a discussion class and you will be encouraged to take notes on your provided outline. If you would like to get some clarification and tips to make your stamping/card making experience a bit better, please join us. I would appreciate knowing if you plan to attend by 3pm Friday so I can have printed materials for you.

You will see in the class schedule that we are also having another technique class. Robin, who now designs for Heartfelt Creations, is teaching a flower forming class. In her class you will learn to shape and color at least three different types of flowers. You will make several of each. In this class, you will need to bring your flower forming tools and mat, a water mister, sponge daubers and inks of your choice in 'flower' colors.

Our other classes will be more traditional with a fall card class, a home decor project class and a calendar class....check out the class schedule by clicking here

July was very busy as we were placing lots of orders for immediate through fall delivery. I have, during the past month sent out emails with new catalogs in PDF format for you to check out. I particularly like the fabulous card samples in the catalogs. I hope you enjoy getting them and that they give you lots of ideas . As you know, we will always include whatever you want (need :) in our orders and ship to you the least expensive way if you are out of our area. You should have received links to Impression Obsession, Hero Arts, Stampendous, and Lawn Fawn. If you missed the emails and want to check out the catalogs, email me and I will get the links off to you.

Just a note on The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape. We are now taking a waiting list. Don't be afraid to be on the list as each year we do end up taking people from the list. I know it is hard to plan a year in advance and things do happen, so if you think you want to come, call and get on the list. We will contact you as soon as there is an opening. I hope to be able to announce teachers by September.

Please stop by to see us...the store is always cool so you can get out of the heat. You might even want to come on a Thursday morning with a group of ladies who work on their projects (they call it Twinkling Thursdays)....just show up with whatever you want to work on or just to visit!

                                                          What's New?

Wow.....a lot! Orders we have received include a large order from Impression Obsession, and another order is being placed at the beginning of next week. There are great fall images, and fun words in this order.

The Taylored Expressions order for the Calendar Class is here. We will use the Year of Flowers stamp and die sets for our calendars this time. These little calendars make great gifts, and I scheduled the class early enough in the year for you to have a bunch ready by the holidays.

We received an order from Hero Arts that includes some of their stamp and cut sets. We like these word sets that have a central theme like "Hello" or "Thanks" and include a die for the feature word along with smaller stamp versions of the word. The sets are reasonably priced and handy for most of your basic cards.

We have lots of orders placed that will be shipping over the next month or so. Of course we have ordered the Christmas Collection from Graphic 45. This will be our featured traditional Christmas paper. There will be others that are whimsical, and there will also be papers that are more 'winter' than Christmas.

We placed a huge order with Lawn Fawn. The order includes their newest plaid paper, and stamp and die sets. I loved the forest creatures around the tree stump for a Thanksgiving card. too cute!

We are so anxious to receive the new paper pads from Elizabeth Craft Designs. They are from their new Italian designer, Moda Scraps. The 6x6 paper pads come in lots of different themes. I can't even remember how many I ordered.....a lot! We also ordered new stamps and dies from ECD.

We have two new board programs on the way from Stampendous. One will be for Stamp of the Month in August and one in September. Both are holiday themed...hint, one is Laurel Burch....and it is not just cats!

Hopefully we will have our Penny Black order before the end of August....we can't wait. We ordered a board program from them that is amazing to say the least! It is Christmas themed, but in very un-traditional colors of olive/lime greens and lavenders. It is gorgeous....it might just kick you out of your red/green box! There were so many beautiful samples in the Penny Black catalog, it was hard to choose what to order. The samples are done by the talented artist, Jill Foster......might just try to twist her arm to teach at The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape!!!!!

We have also ordered new products from other companies such as Tonic/Nuvo. If you are thinking about trying out alcohol pens, you should check out the Nuvo pens. They are very inexpensive, come in 3 shades of each color, and would be a great way to get your feet wet (or fingers) and work into Copics!

We are ordering more home decor seasonal pieces from Foundations Decor. This is a new company and they are designing new pieces every day. They are great to work with and Melissa is having a lot of fun preparing the monthly class pieces. We are also happy to order special pieces for you, too.

I am working on an order with Memory Box and Poppy Stamps that will go in tomorrow and there will be more orders written in the next couple of weeks. There is always something new coming through the door!
