News Highlights Terry Medaris Impression Obsession Lavinia Stamps New Arrivals |

Are you staying cool? It has been quite hot here, and sadly we have had several fires. Until last night, there had been no structures lost. The fire was about 6 miles from my home (17 miles from the store) so no immediate danger. Unfortunately a house and a couple of trailers were lost. Last week I received an 'immediate evacuation' call while I was at work, so I flew home to gather up animals....all the while thinking the fire didn't really seem to be that close. After I had all of the cats in carriers and was about to move the birds into a small cage, I got a call that said I didn't need to evacuate......of course, I was reluctant to let the cats out of the carriers knowing if things changed I would have a hard time convincing them they needed to get back in those darned things! The dogs were not the least bit concerned, they are such good boys! We are always on alert these days. Between the drought, dead trees, and low humidity, it can be pretty scary. Other areas in the state are having far worse fire issues, so we are thankful that so far we have been ok and for the great jobs our firefighters on the ground and in the air, first responders, and law enforcement do in these trying times. I hope you are safe, where ever you are, and enjoying your summer without having to worry about your safety. We are looking forward to Terry Medaris visiting this month to teach his Prismacolor classes. He will teach a beginning class and a jewelry class on August 20th. Terry is a very talented teacher, so if you have never taken his classes, we still have a couple of spots if you are interested. Call asap if you want to attend. I have received two great catalogs from Impression Obsession. I must say that owner, Mitra Friant, did a great job on these catalogs. We haven't seen such nice catalogs with great images and dies, and inspiring samples like these in a long time. I have both catalogs in pdf format, but I must warn you, the files are large. (They are worth it, though) Here they are! Stay cool, and stop by for some inspiration ....we always have the a/c on :)  What's New?We have American Crafts new fall collection in stock, and several new collections from DoodleBug are due to ship mid-August. We are ordering Christmas and Winter now. We have received a wonderful selection of Memory Box and Poppystamp dies and will be placing more orders from them in a few weeks. We have also ordered stamp layering sets with matching dies, and new ink cubes from Hero Arts. We received our order from Pink Ink...some cute images with coordinating words. Our initial order from the Impression Obsession Die catalog has been shipped and should be here by the 5th. We will of course, be ordering again (after you tell us what you just have to add to your stash!) :) Our rep, Joan who reps many of our favorite companies will be here the 16th, and we will see all of the samples she has from her companies. How can we resist when we see everything in person???? I'll need to get out the checkbook! I know there are other things we have ordered that I am forgetting....that's why when the UPS man arrives we always say "I wonder what we ordered".....It is always like Christmas....surprise!!!
