Hello and Happy 4th of July!

Well, summer came here with a vengance and along with it, fires. Melissa was on pre-evacuation again like last year but it never gets routine. Between Mariposa, Oakhurst and North Fork areas we had 7 fires. I can only imagine what the rest of the summer holds for us. Unfortunately we know we are not alone with the entire area of the western states having major fires. For the first time in 75 years, we are not having fireworks displays at Bass Lake. Instead there will be a boat parade and a laser light show. Should be fun and a lot safer! Those of  you who came to Stamp Escape witnessed the severity of the drought and the toll it has taken on our beautiful trees, to say nothing of the low level of the lake. We are praying that the forecast of a harsh El Nino winter will come true!

Speaking of Stamp Escape, we are half full for 2016. If you want to reserve a spot, print out the registration form and send a deposit before too long...we really do limit the event to 100 people and had quite a waiting list last time. Just a reminder, our teachers are Susan Tierney-Cockburn, Sandy Allnock, Els van de Burgt, and Lisa Lee. We will have a wonderful variety of projects for you again next year......don't delay, the registration form is on the website at www.catsmeowstamps.com.

We will be closed Saturday July 4th for Independence Day, but you don't need to miss a class as we have a special visit from Els van de Burgt from Elizabeth Craft Designs with us on Wednesday, July 8th to teach two classes. In the morning she will teach her Tags and More class and in the afternoon you can take a Glitter card class. You will make four projects in each class. The classes are $40 each and you should register right away as she is making kits and will be bring them with her so we need an accurate count. Check out the class section on the website for more pitures.....here are a couple of the projects!

We are also testing a new idea this month....we might call it the No-Class Card Kit! (Unless we come up with a different name) The plan is to select a stamp and die set each month and create three cards with it. We will offer the kits by pre-order. We will show the kit in the newsletter and you will have about ten days to order. We will then make kits and have them available for pick up or shipping by about the last week of the month. You will receive the stamp/die set, and pre-cut kits for three cards with instructions. You will also get a list of any other products we used on the cards in case you want to order them. We want to choose a stamp and die set we think have lots of possibilities for you. The idea came about following Stamp Escape when so many of you who attend from out of the area have told us you don't have stores where you can take classes.....thus the No-Class Card Kits.....and all the time you thought we meant we have "no class"! Here is our first kit:

The kit price is $24.99 which includes the stamp set with matching die, all paper, embellishments and instructions to complete the three cards. You will provide adhesive and inks. If you want to make more, you can add on the following items: Lots of Dots embossing folder $5.99, Cross Stitch Oval Dies $24.99, Cloud Stacklets Dies $26.99, Curly Swirlies $21.99, Branches, Banner and Bloom $15.99, Ranger inks in Caribbean Coast and Electric Lime dye ink pads $4.99 each. (Various cardstock used will be listed in instructions) Pick up at the store or have shipped Priority Mail for an additional $6.00. Orders must be placed by Monday, July 13th. Kits will be available for pick up or shipment Friday, July 24th. We are anxious to hear your feedback on this idea.

We have received new goodies to tempt you, and we are in the process of ordering fall and Christmas product as I write this. We had a few products at Stamp Escape that were so popular that we have added them to regular stock. Keep an eye our for our early-Christmas classes to start next month.....we want you to have plenty of time to plan!

We hope you have a safe July 4th, and take a moment to celebrate those who founded our wonderful country and those who keep us safe.

Stop by soon,
What's New?

I know you will be happy that we have received the two latest collections from Graphic 45. We have Rare Oddities and Gilded Lily in stock.

Rare Oddities:

Gilded Lily:

One of the adhesives we used at Stamp Escape was really a hit. It is not new, but I guess most people had never used it. The manufacturer is Art Institute Glitter. The adhesive dries completely clear and dries pretty quickly. The unique thing is that they have this wonderful metal tip that you attach to the bottle that allows you to dispense very tiny amounts of glue.

Another product that was used in Peggy Jo Ackley's class that sold out immediately was the Prismacolor blending pencil. We got lots of comments on this item, and if you  like to use colored pencils, you should have one.

We have received the Ombre Dye Ink Pads from Hero Arts and are expecting a follow-up order soon. There are eight colors and each pads is shaded from light to dark. Melissa is using a couple of the pads in her class this month.

We also have coming from Hero Arts, their Fall/Christmas release. It will be here mid-month.

Be sure to check out our classes on the website at www.catsmeowstamps.com and join us on facebook!
