Hello and Happy Thanksgiving;
As I write this, we are hoping for rain tonight, even though it is Halloween and the little goblins will get wet! We so desperately need the rain that I think even the ghosts will approve. I can't believe the fall/winter holidays are upon us. You all must be really organized because it we have already had to re-order some Christmas paper and add some new designs and I haven't even had to nag you yet :) We always seem to have a lull in ordering late in the year, but a few companies have started having monthly or more frequent releases rather than just the winter and summer releases that revolve around the two trade shows. I really like it this way because there are always fun things on the way and I think the vendors can spread out their production costs making it easier for them. I hate ordering in January and not getting things until August! Now I can order at the end of October and receive product the first week in November from these forward thinking companies. One of those companies is Taylored Expressions. I have just placed an order that will be shipped next week so we will soon have more new stamp sets and dies from them. Today I also ordered a beautiful sample board from Penny Black. Usually we only get these following the January show. We also have new dies coming from PoppyStamps and Memory Box. Be sure to see the class schedule this month. You will notice we did not schedule a class for the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and of course we will be closed Thanksgiving day. We will be open regular hours, 9-5, Friday and Saturday that week....no Walmart hours for us! Classes this month are focusing on Christmas and we will probably have some Christmas projects again in early December. Be sure to read your emails! Have a great Thanksgiving and stop in soon. What's New? After a long wait and product testing, we have the Evolution Advanced and the accompanying motor.You may remember, last January following the show, we said we had seen the proto-type. Well, the manufacturer, Lifestyle Crafts, was still working out the kinks, but we placed our order anyway. Then...Lifestyle Crafts was sold to We R Memory Keepers and since they are known for quality tools, they had the final say on the product. Some changes were made from what we originally saw, and we love it. We actually did our own in-store testing before selling the ones we received. The die cutting/embossing/letterpress machine looks similar to the Cuttlebug. The similarity ends there. The unique thing about this machine is you don't have a bunch of plates with different sandwiches for different uses. The machine has a pressure dial that you turn to choose between embossing, cutting, etc. You also have pressure options for harder to cut dies :) This might just need to be the first item on your Christmas List! As I mentioned, we received new stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions in October and have newer ones shipping after Nov. 3rd. We really liked some of the new dies from PoppyStamps which you sill see used on Melissa's Tissue Box. We also have circle, square and rectangle 'stitched' dies from My Favorite Things. These dies cut the shape with what looks like stitching just inside the cut edge. We also got some great stitched leaf dies from Lawn Fawn. In case you are looking for larger rhinestones, we have a box of clear rhinestones in multiple sizes up to about 1/2", with the box-full being reasonably priced. We also stock gold, silver and clear glitter in large quantity jars at a reasonable price, which work especially well for big projects. Be sure to make your Christmas list....and include all of the things you wish you had from The Cat's Meow. Think about the new Evolution, maybe a Cameo (electronic cutting machine), a Scoring board...the possibilities are endless! You can always ask for a gift certificate, too! If you have some stockings to stuff, pick up a few of our cute little photo album key rings! Too adorable! We hope you have rain and snow where you are, especially if you live in California.... Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and stop by soon. Click the ling below to be directed to the website to see classes~ |
