 Hi....
I have so much to tell you this month. But first I want you to know we are fine here following the fire. Yes, the Junction Incident did start very near the store on Junction Drive. We evacuated the cats Monday afternoon, August 18th, just to be safe. Melissa was under mandatory evacuation at home. The weather cooperated and the amazing work of over 1200 firefighters literally saved Oakhurst. It was still a disaster for those who lost homes and businesses but there was the potential for the fire to go up Highway 41 to Tenaya Lodge. As is was, they kept the fire to a little over 600 acres, truly a miracle. I hope our friends in the Napa Valley did as well when the earth shook earlier this week. We Californians have have had an interesting month.

Now for better news.....STAMP ESCAPE 2015 is all set. Check out the website to get all of the details. We are so excited to have wonderful teachers who are putting together classes with a nice variety of projects and techniques. You will learn to use some new products, and of course the latest images will be featured. The Pines Resort (as of 8/28) is now under one ownership. No more dealing with separate people for meeting rooms and lodging. I have been working with the chef to provide lunches both Saturday and Sunday and he has come up with something a little different that we think everyone will like. I have blocked the suited and 50 chalets, but you should reserve rooms as soon as you can to make sore you get what you want. Call 559-642-3121 and tell them you are with The Cat's Meow to get our special rate. Last year, some who wanted suites waited too late and they were all booked, so consider this your warning!
This year we found it necessary to raise the registration fee $25. We hope you understand that our costs have gone up and even though we try to make this event as affordable as possible, we felt it necessary to make this change. We were able to provide the second meal and secure the same room rates as last year which we think will help make up for the price increase. I have been getting lots of calls from those wanting to send money, so send away....I will be checking the mail. When you check out the Stamp Escape information on the website, be sure to use the links to the teachers blogs. You can see samples of their work and get a feel for the types of things you might do in class. Don't miss out on the opportunity to attend this event.

A while back, I emailed a survey asking about a possible special retreat featuring Jennifer Dove. Jenn is a terrific Copic Artist and everyone who attended Stamp Escape 2014 loved her. As you may know, Jenn is expecting a baby girl within the next four weeks. She is very excited about the baby, but now that the birth is getting close, she realizes she was a little ambitious thinking she could teach a retreat in January. We still want to have a Copic Retreat, but it will definitely be after Stamp Escape. I think Jenn will still have her own boot camp in Phoenix, but since that is her home it will be easier than it would be if she was traveling with the baby......and she doesn't think Daddy would be able to care for her alone. Nope, I agree! Do...for now, the Copic Retreat is on the back burner, sorry!

We have lots of new goodies arriving as we approach the holiday season. Better think about your cards so we can make sure we can get you anything you need. On that front, I just got off the phone with We R Memory Keepers. They will be shipping the much-anticipated Evolution Advanced next Wednesday. Yippee!!!!
We ordered quite a few machines and optional motors. As soon as they arrive, we will be testing one in the store to make sure it performs as expected. We think we should be the testers, when they come in, not you! I will send you a separate email when they are ready for purchase.

See you very soon, we hope.
What's New?

Two big boxes of Graphic 45 arrived today. We have Twas the Night Before Christmas, Time to Celebrate, Raining Cats and Dogs, and the Baby 2 Bride Collectors Edition kits.

Three Doodlebug collections arrived...Friendly Forest, Ghouls and Goodies, Happy Camper. Talk about cute! I know these will all be re-ordered. You can see snips of them on the cards for September classes.

Another order from Memory Box and Poppystamps has come in and we immediately started working on another one. We want to make sure that everyone will be able to get the dies they need (I have four prototype Christmas cards in the works myself, just deciding) for their Holiday cards.

Elizabeth Craft Designs dies have come, some are gone and have been reordered. Check out the cute owl on Linda's class cards.

Peerless Watercolors are in stock. We love this 100+ year old method of making watercolors. They are all the talk on the internet.....like they are something new! Look no further, we have them!

Lots more on order....will keep you posted on the Evolution Advanced and optional motor...you may never crank a die or embossing folder through a machine again!
