News Highlights Halloween to Christmas Stamp Escape Copic Retreat? Fun Classes |
Hi everyone; I know it is summer, but I just took Halloween paper and stamps out of boxes! I am working on Thanksgiving and Christmas orders, too. I know it is 100 degrees and fires are burning around us. The smoke has been really bad, but this morning it rained at my house and cleared the air for the first time in several days. By the time I got to the store, it was smokey though. We are so grateful for the firefighters who work so hard in terrible conditions to protect us. I am in such a quandry....so much terrific paper and so many decisions. Of course we have Graphic 45....it can't miss. I am debating about Christmas paper from a couple of companies...just too many good ones. We are looking forward to the release of the new Evolution Advanced. We hope to get it late this month but nothing is certain. It is a Lifestyle Crafts product (they are now owned by We R Memory Keepers). We are so excited about this new machine. It is quite portable, like the Cuttlebug. However there are some really great features not seen in ANY other die cutting machine. First, the tension is controlled by a dial which eliminates figuring out what sandwich you need for different types of dies. As you might have figured out, tension also changes with usage. This might correct that problem without using so many shims. One of the other neat features is the availability of a motor for the Evolution Advanced! It is an accessory so can be used or not. For anyone with hand/arm problems or someone who does a lot of production cutting, this machine will be a must. We are told we should see it around the end of this month. The release has taken quite a while because WeR has done a lot of product testing and fine tuning. They are known for their tools and I am sure they don't want to release a product that might not live up to their standards. I will let you know when the Evolution Advanced is available. I have confirmed two of the four teachers for Stamp Escape 2015. I am really excited to have these teachers who will bring their talent and expertise to the event. As soon as I have all four confirmed, you will be the first to know! Thanks to everyone who send in their Copic Retreat Survey. I will be compiling it next week so I can call Jenn to discuss the wishes of the 'masses'. I want to make sure the retreat addresses the techniques that are most important to you. Stay tuned! Be sure to look at Melissa's calendar class this month. These classes are very popular and she is willing to do more than one if this class fills up. This project makes a wonderful gift and can really be customized for each recipient. Click on the link below to go to the website where you can see the class projects. and be sure to like us on facebook! See you soon....stay cool! What's New?
We received the Memory Box/Poppy Stamps Christmas release and it is wonderful! We are taking orders for the things we have already sold out of! It is truly amazing how fast these dies sell. Here today....gone today! I am hoping to get some extra print catalogs to make them available to anyone who prefers to flip through a real catalog instead of a virtual one online. I opened a box filled with the new Elizabeth Craft Designs dies. Love Chilly the Penguin, Poppy the Owl and Hoppy the Frog. We also have the 'Props' die that includes a hat, sunglasses and mustache to give them personality. Don't forget that ECD has tons of videos on youtube that show you how to use their dies. The ones from Karen Burniston are especially good. Eerie Tales paper from Graphic 45 is in stock. As usual, it is fabulous. You just can't miss with G45. We also have coming, the remake of Baby 2 Bride in a kit, Time to Celebrate, Raining Cats and Dogs, and Twas the Night Before Christmas. Doodlebug will be arriving soon....Happy Camper, Ghouls and Goodies, Friendly Forest, Frosty Friends have been ordered. I think I will add Santa Express but I am trying to decide between that and Be Merry or Home for Christmas, both from American Crafts. We are anxiously awaiting a big box full of ribbon from France! I placed my first order with Sabat. I love the selection of ribbon and I love the colors. Can't wait. Yarn...did you say yarn? No, Melissa is not teaching crochet classes. The small yarn shop here in town closed and we were getting calls several times a week from people looking for basic yarn. Just to accommodate our locals and tourists, we squeezed out a space for some basic yarns. Might figure out a way to use them on cards, too! Eeeek, we have mice! You would think with Quill and Mittens patrolling the premises, we would be mouse-free. Nope, we have those adorable House Mouse designs right here in the store. The newest ones are all decked out for Halloween! You never know then we might find some decorating for Christmas, too. |
