Robin's News

Hello;

It is with great sadness that I write to tell you of the passing of our dear Peachy. Peachy and Mittens have been the ambassadors and greeters at The Cat’s Meow for 13 years. They were born to a feral mom and when they were about 5 months old, we trapped three kittens and their mom, had them health checked, and spayed and neutered. Not knowing how things would go, I brought the three kittens to the store to be socialized. Ultimately, my Mom and Dad took Sparky (the black and white boy) home with them. At their passing, he was part of my inheritance. Peachy and Mittens were perfectly suited to their jobs at the store, especially Peachy who never met a stranger and had the ultimate in patience with everyone, no matter how young.  About 10 days ago, Peachy seemed a ‘little off’ so I took him home where I could monitor him. He was doing well and enjoying having his own room with my full attention and room service. Yesterday morning (the 25th), when I went to check on him, he had ‘gone to sleep’ and certainly is in Kitty Heaven. Mittens misses him, but is enjoying the attention. There will never be another Peachy!

On a brighter note, Stamp Escape is just around the corner. I have tried to notify everyone who mentioned that they were coming or had hotel reservations and had not yet registered. However, if I missed you and you want to attend, don’t delay. Be sure to contact me so I can put your name on the list while I wait for your payment. At this point I cannot guarantee a spot for more than a few days as we are getting close to being full. I will be meeting with The Pines people tomorrow to go over some final details…things are looking great and I know we will have a fabulous weekend. If you have never attended this event, this will be one of, if not the best! We hope to see you there.

We have been getting lots of shipments of goodies we ordered at CHA. Even though the show was in January, the shipments will be staggered all the way to April and a few until May. Trust me, even we are surprised when we see things we didn’t remember ordering……..so much for good memories! Check out What’s New? to see what has arrived.

We have a full class schedule this month that will include Easter and more! Be sure to check it out. We will have Easter Cards from cute to fussy and an adorable nautical theme class, too. You will want to sign up for all.

Robin has more good news! She has been selected to be one of the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen. If you follow Splitcoast you will be seeing some of her beautiful work there. It is no surprise to us that they wanted her to join them. Congrats Robin!

What's New?

We have lots of new paper….We just got a gorgeous collection from Anna Griffin. It is very much what you would expect from them, a lovely floral with several papers that support the floral. Perfect for Mother’s Day!  We also have Garden Party, a collection from American Crafts. It is a fun collection with the cutest little envelopes you have ever seen!  From Graphic 45, we have Botanical Tea and By The Sea, both collections are wonderful. Thinking ahead to the coming patriotic holidays we have an Americana collection from American Crafts. It also could be used with nautical themes. There are several papers from Doodlebug in spring and Easter themes. There is a very large variety to choose from so you will find something there to choose from for sure!

Some other finds at CHA that have come in include the Mini Distress Inks from Ranger/Tim Holtz. They come in sets of four different colors in three different assortments. We also got in a 6x6 pad of solid metallic cardstocks……lots of pretty colors. Also from Doodlebug, check out the glitter assortments, 12 little bottles of bright or jewel colors in a pack. Soon to come, sequins in 12 different colors in a pack, too.

We have received and reordered some of the newest dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Actually they are flying out and we are ordering more. We know they will be very popular as many are designed by Karen Burniston and she will be using them at Stamp Escape. Also from ECD, we have Shimmer Sheetz in new sample packs. You get a variety of colors in smaller sheets. A great idea to give you lots of choices.

Quite a few people have asked about two highly touted items….the Little B Perfect Positioner and the Spellbunders Tool-in-1. Both items are scheduled to ship some time around the end  of March. If you want to be on the list to get either, let us know.

We have new stamps from Hero Arts, and new stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions and My Favorite Things. So much to see……
