Last minute classes
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We returned from a fabulous cruise through the Rhine River Valley the Friday before Thanksgiving. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The ship was new and beautiful, the service was 5 star. We had every kind of weather....sun, fog, rain, and finally snow. I posted a few pictures on facebook when there was an internet connection available, so maybe you saw them. If you are thinking about a river cruise, we definitely suggest you look at Viking River Cruises. They definitely understand the meaning of hospitality.
Melissa had a great time offering daily specials which she announced on our facebook page. If you haven't checked out our page, you should as we will be offering facebook specials in the future. You never know when something you have been coveting might be available at a reduced price!
Even though this time of year is busy with holiday events, we still have some last minute Christmas Card classes in the works. We are looking ahead to Valentine's Day and Easter as we order. The new Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments came in while I was gone along with Couture. I love both collections and see that they are already getting picked over which means you like them, too. I will be working on a class for January that will use Couture.....keep an eye out for the sample in the store.
Be sure to ask Santa to put a gift certificate in your stocking from The Cat's Meow. If you have been especially good, he might want to make it for The Great Yosemite Stamp Escape 2014. Sign-ups are coming along nicely and I have been in touch with the teachers who are getting really excited about teaching at our event.
Melissa, Robin and I wish you a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
Graphic 45 collections as mentioned above. Sweet Sentiments will remind you a bit of Secret Garden as it is in pastels. Couture is somewhere between Flapper and Art Deco. I love the black/red/turquoise color combination.
We also have our first Valentine paper collection in stock. It is never too early for hearts! I will be ordering another Valentine collection from Doodlebug next week. They have the 'hard to find' heart shaped pearls and rhinestones.....and we will have them, too!
We have new dies from Taylored Expressions and Cottage Cutz. There are so many companies making dies, it is hard to choose. We are trying to find the best of what's available. Some companies such as those mentioned above as well as Cheery Lynn Designs suggest using a metal shim with their highly detailed dies, especially in a Cuttlebug or Big Shot. We seem to have good luck with the detailed dies in the Evolution and Grand Calibur. The Evolution should be back in stock soon....there has been a little gap in shipping since the manufacturer of the Evolution, Lifestyle Crafts, was bought by We R Memory Keepers.
We will be attending the Winter CHA show early in January, so if there is anything you particularly want us to look for, let us know so we can put it on our list. We will close early January 10th so we can hit the road for Anaheim and will be closed Monday and Tuesday. We will be back in the store with about 100 pounds of catalogs and lots of inspiration on Wednesday the 14th. We can't wait!
