Hi everyone;

I don't know about you, but I am glad summer is finally winding down. Everything has been so dry this summer that our fire danger has been high. We have found ourselves between two severe forest wildfires. The first one actually affected us the most with heavy smoke every day. It was between Huntington Lake and the outskirts of North Fork. The current one which is still at only 30% containment today is the Rim fire which is north of us. It is a horrible fire and is burning a huge area. The smoke is not really coming this way which is good, but I know others are really suffering from it. I hate to think of the mudslides this winter and all of the dead, injured, and displaced wildlife these fires cause. Soooo, cooler weather approaching is a good thing!

As you know, neither Melissa nor I went to Summer CHA. I am sot sure we missed a lot because we have been contacted by our regular companies and reps who updated us with catalogs and samples. We have placed lots of orders which have been steadily arriving.

I wanted to give you an update on Stamp Escape. I am finally getting teachers confirmed. I am very excited about our group for 2014. I won't announce names for a couple of weeks, but I can say they are all new, they will present different styles, and they are really excited to be a part of our event. I will update the info on the website as soon as I get signed agreements from all of them, and will open the event up for registration. Remember, the dates are May 2-4, 2014, mark your calendar and watch your emails for notification of the opening of registration.

When you stop in, be sure to ask to see the Taylored Expressions catalog. This is a company that we will be ordering from soon. If you are not close by and want to check out their website, feel free to email or call with things to add to the order. I am sorry, I don't have a digital catalog to send you on this one. By the way, I am glad you are enjoying looking through the digital catalogs I have been sending you. I think it is a great way for you to see everything a company has to offer. It is also helpful for me to see what is ordered as I can keep your preferences and styles in mind when I select new companies.

Those of you who like to make calendars every year will be happy to know that the first Saturday in October, I will teach a perpetual (or birthday) calendar. This will be like a book that opens up to each month with pockets on facing pages that hold a pull-out card where birthdays and other important dates can be listed. There is plenty of room for other goodies too. This makes a great gift as it never goes out of date. Be sure to watch for my sample under classes.

Speaking about classes, this month Robin is teaching a class using the flip-card die. We love these cards that 'do' something! Melissa's class on the 14th features a wonderful technique from Elizabeth Craft Design that makes three different cards from one piece of Shimmer Sheetz. There is plenty of time to make Halloween cards and treats, and lots of new fall ideas are here to inspire you. Stop in soon!

What's New?

BoBunny...the new fall collection, Autumn Song, with coordinating stamps and embellishments is here. Love those fall colors! We also have restocked our Misc. Me section which features notebooks that can be simple mini-albums, journals, or even a recipe book. We really like the new collection, Zip-a-Dee Doodle. It is done in black and white, sort of like Zentangle. I think it would be perfect for a tween girl to use as a journal. It would be really fun to color the binder and designs on the pages with bright pens for a unique look. It would also make a great recipe book! We have a third collection from BoBunny, The Avenues. This is a little more vintage with soft aquas and corals. We also bought several colors of their DoubleDot papers to coordinate in the new Vinatge Dots.

New from Doodlebug are seasonal DoodlePops, the little dimensional embellishments that accompany their cards and envelopes that are sold by the piece. If you need a card in a jiffy, this is the ticket. We also got in their 6x6 pads in Harvest theme. These are the cutest papers with tiny acorns, leaves, scarecrows and other fall images. I think what we like about Doodlebug is their clear colors. We received their new Mini Pearls and they literally left here with ladies buying a package of every color., They are already on re-order. Shortly after getting the mini Pearls (I always think of Minnie Pearl when I say that), we got Sprinkles. These look like enamel dots and come in bright colors with several size dots in a package. They remind me of those candy dots that came stuck to a strip of paper.....whatever they were called! The Doodlebug Halloween collection came in and is already getting pretty picked over, We will check this week to see if we can get more in time for cardmaking.

Fot those of you who can't live without the little foam adhesive squares (in two sizes) from Best Creations, they are in stock. We ordered a ton of them since you are buying 12 packages at a time :)

I must say, we went a little 'Bella Blvd Crazy"! When our rep, Joan, was here we loved their papers so much that we ordered papers we don't even have room for!  There is a new baby boy/girl collection, a juvenile birthday boy/girl collection, a collection that reminds me of a day in the park, and a whimsical Christmas collection.

By Monday we should have the new Graphic 45 papers which everyone seems to love. I ordered Mother Goose, Typography, and 12 Days of Christmas. I will also be using Graphic 45 paper for my calendar class on Oct. 5th.

Of course, there are lots of fill-ins arriving every day...yippee, UPS just delivered the new Distress Markers...12 new colors! I am sure when you come in, you will see plenty of new things that I haven't thought to list today. It will be your surprise!
