News Highlights Fun at the Lake! Paper Smooches Tim Holtz Products BoBunny Paper |
Hi;
Did we miss something around here? I was worried the weather would be too cold and maybe rain or snow for Stamp Escape and we are having summer weather! Somebody must be messing with the weather......do the Russians still do that? Needless to say, we had the perfect weekend for Stamp Escape. We counted 102 bodies in the store Friday evening. It was very cozy, but evevryone was busy trading ATC'a and having a good time. The rest of the weekend was fun and we had the perfect mix of teachers, students, weather, and cooperation from the resort. The Saturday buffet at Ducey's was great, and the bag lunches Sunday in the meeting rooms were yummy! Can't believe we had freshly made potato chips. We thought of a few little things we will tweek next year. You never quit learning and making things better. There will definitely be a Stamp Escape 2014, so watch for news in future newsletters. We always bring in product for Stamp Escape and sometimes it might be companies that are new to the store. This year be are introducing Paper Smooches. Kim Hughes, the owner of Paper Smooches was one of our teachers. She designs all of her stamps which have a cute, whimsical feel. Her cards were simple, yet very special. I love the fonts she uses in her word sets. We kept stock after the event, and will be ordering from Kim on a regular basis. One of the other things we really liked from Stamp Escape was the paper our teacher Angelica Turner designed for Heartfelt Creations. Her style is just beautiful and the paper was a big hit. The Aster paper is being re-ordered since we sold out! We brought in full selections of two Tim Holtz products. Distress Stains were used as watercolors at Donna Heckenlaible's class, and Els used Distress Markers with her lovley glitter cards. You can check out lots of vidoes on youtube for ideas using both products. Tim Holtz has some really good ones using the stains. He gives lots of pointers on how they are different than using re-inkers and surfaces they are good on. Els (Elizabeth Craft Designs) has videos showing how to shade and color her glitter with the markers. She did some fabulous cards using the Sizzix Flip-It dies. I think everyone loved the cards. We sold out of the dies, so have just ordered more! We will be placing lots of orders for items we ran out of, so even if you didn't get a chance to attend Stamp Escape this year, this is a good time to get in any special orders you want. I imagine we will have all orders sent off by May 10. We hope you will consider attending our big event next year. It is a lot of fun, packed full of ideas, and gives you a chance to spend time with people who really enjoy crafting. You leave with lots of ideas and inspiration. Check out our class schedule for May, and what else is new in the store. We hope to see you soon, WHAT'S NEW?
Two new collections have just arrived from BoBunny. Trail Mix is their new outdoors/camping paper. We have papers, dimensional stickers and other embellishments. We also received Anthem, their patriotic collection. It is not specifically 4th of July, so any designs you put together with reds and blues would be perfect for this collection. Of course, as mentioned above, we have Distress Stains and Distress Markers. We also have lots of Heartfelt Creations stamp sets and dies as well as two of their three paper collections. We have new glitters from Doodlebug. They are a fine glitter, but not the micro fine like Elizabeth Craft Designs. They are in large bottles at a reasonable price. The colors are bright and fun. These glitters would be perfect for any craft project or even school project. Paper Smooches stamp sets for the cute cards on your list. Very hip sayings in whimsical fonts are their specialty. The latest order of Memory Box dies and stamps is in. We also have a few catalog supplements available. Check out the classes for May by clicking on the link below! |
